BIG ANTIQUE VINTAGE ELEPHANT IVORY SLAVE BANGLE BRACELET Packhorseantiquesis pleased to offer this unusual legally imported large Antique VintageAfrican Elephant Ivory Bangle Bracelet. This is from an estate sale and I estimate the age to be c1920s, well pre ban. I would imagine it originally came from someone's travels to Africa and may well have been a tribal piece. This is of a size that was traditionally worn above the elbow in the 1920s (a la Egyptian fad) and in England is often referred to as a "slave bangle." Inside diameter is 2 7/8" (7.5 cm.) The width is 1/2 inch (1 cm.) Wear this as a wrist bangle bracelet or up your arm was was originally meant for a slave bangle. Has the typical pronounced cross hatching found on ivory. Guaranteed to be old and antique. Condition is good, however it does have a split from age 1/3 of the way around - however, it is made of a natural organic material and so this is to be expected in a piece of this age. It is on one side only, so if you wear it the other way up, it will not show.
