1890s Antique Vintage Figural Meerschaum Pipe BLACK AFRICAN NUBIAN. Pipe is 4.5" long (11cm). A very nice figural pipe of a Nubian man wearing a hat accented with a ribbon. Pipe has a great honey colored patina accented by a rich brown color that extends up the shank. Figural pipes of Africans and Nubians are highly collectible! This pipe dates from the 1890s. The pipe has an apricot colored amber mouthpiece and has a case that is marked "Ambre" and "Veritables". Similar pipe is pictured on page 92 of "A Complete Guide to Collecting Antique Pipes" by Ben Rapaport. The entire pipe is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and has NO chips, cracks, or repairs.
