ANTIQUE HAND KNITTED WOODEN ROCKING CHAIR - All Original -Dated approx late 1800s. Frame is made from all detailed solid wood .I am not exactly sure of what type of wood it is .The wood is all beautifully detailed as the older pieces are done (see pics ) The seat and backing are made from Handknit and is a gorgeous floral pattern (see pics ) The trim around seat and backing is all hobnail .T is a small stain on the left side of seat (see pics ) .T is unraveling of stitching on an area of the seat (see pics ) The rockers on the very bottom have a metal covering to protect the wood and was like this when I aquired the piece .All the wood edges on the frame have signs of wear but very solid ! Edges are worn all around seat area .Measures 33 inches high by 19 1/2 inches Wide by 29 inches deep on seat . The measurement from floor to seat is 16 inches . Its a gorgeous little rocker and is still VERY USEABLE and would look great in a Vintage Home or B & B !
