~*~Hello and thank you for looking~*~ ~*~This auction today is for this amazingly rare roll of Lilac Purple hand-woven hemp that measures 9.8 meters by 55cm roll~*~(32.15 feet by 21.65 inches) This Buy it now textile is this wonderful roll of antique / vintage european linen / hemp. This roll is the most rare roll I have seen. This roll has the most amazing Lilac Purple stripe with a wonderful oatmeal toned hemp/linen. The weave is simply amazing, it is medium open and just wonderful to touch~ This roll on the opposite side is a deep indigo/purple colour with a slightly deeper shade of linen, more flaxy. The lilac purple side is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen~*~ It would be stunning used as upholstery linen, cushions, curtains, runners~ you name it~*~ This roll is in wonderful unused condition, it is in original unwashed condition with some slightly dirty areas, generally wonderful! ~*~ This roll weighs 3.3 kg so shipping to the UK is £13. Shipping to the USA airmail is £45.80~*~ ~*~This wonderful fabric has so many uses:STUNNING table runners~*~Upholstery, bedding, cushions, curtains,clothing, Roman Blinds, bags, ~ so many wonderful sewing projects~*~ ~ ~*~The woman weavers of yesterday would spend their evenings weaving these amazing rolls of linen. It took the average woman 1 night to weave 60 centimeters ( 24 inches) of linen ~*~ These rolls are 100% machine washable, on 40 or 60 celcius..if t is visible dirt, just add a bit of Oxywash! They are so easy to wash, simply spin dry then remove when wet. Roll the linen tightly and let sit overnight. In the morning unroll and allow to dry naturally~ this presses the linen and t is usually no need to iron ( unless you prefer it perfect). Pure linen or hemp rolls tend to have no shrinkage, the rolls with cotton tend to have some shrinkage. The width of these rolls can vary slightly throughout as they are all woven by hand. These rolls are tough and sturdy, built to last.....and last and last!! Hemp can be washed on regular cycle to soften or one can use liquid fabric softener if desired. Most of my rolls don't tend to need any additional help with softening as they have a lovely texture as is~ The age of these rolls range from about 60 years old to over 100~*~ Hemp is built to last for many many generations making it a lovely textile for creating family heirlooms~*~ All of my linen rolls are produced using natural fibers. Natural fibers have the irregularities and subtleties that are innt ...adding to their rustic charm~*~ These rolls are increasingly difficult to find as they have been used so extensively over the past 20 years.
