This listing is for a marked HORSMAN Baby Buttercup...she's stamped H (C) C on back of her neck. Old Horsman Company marking. Baby Buttercup was made in 1931 and production only ran for about 7 years ...I think if memory serves correctly....and it was about 1938 or so that they stopped making them. Several sizes and versions were available. Baby Buttercup is getting harder to find these days. This Buttercup doll has beautiful green glassine sleep eyes and the bent baby legs...if her chubby legs were "un-bent"..she would measure about 14" long. She has just a few horsehair eyelashes left...as well as her painted eyelashes with a small red open mouth. She's in good condition with some noted old repairs. Tiny compo cracks around her eyes have been filled and touched up, also a small round spot on her forehead and some repaint on her left hand and right foot. Her flanged joints move well, her cloth body is clean and sweet ...from my non smoking home. She's heavy for a small doll! She's wearing an antique rose-print doll dress with flannel diapers. Her dress is wearing a bit thin in front. She has flaws...but they're not too terrible. She is darling and displays well ~ Please supersize her photos to decide for yourself ...her condition. I think I've mentioned all that I see...but, ask any questions. This adorable baby has always been read more
