Absolutely charming little seashell art trinket box with hinged lid and little mirror! Don't have any history on it, it came from an estate sale, but it is said that these boxes were made by Sailors and given to their loved ones. This box is constructed from wood and has a patterned paper glued around the sides of the box. Then dozens of little shells have been glued to the top and sides. It has a little mirror above the hinged box area. The inside is painted blue. Please view our photos, it is missing a few shells on the top section and one of the little shells is broken on the bottom front. Also, a small strip of the gold trim on the front of the box is missing. Other than that it is in very good "antique" condition. We guesstimate this little gem to be circa 1900. It is about 6" tall and 4" wide and 3" deep. No reserve, just our reasonable starting price. Please view our other auctions for additional antiques, vintage items, and collectibles.
