Antique VintageScottish Agate Brooch Sterling Silver Filigree Mount w/Gold Flowers c. 1900-20 A wonderful Moss Agate brooch, hand polished, beveled and set into a marked Sterling Silver filigree frame... The colors and textures of this moss agate are exquisite. Translucent and opaque areas in colors of beige, green, and rust. Tendrils of moss seem to be growing within the stone. It is truly becoming more difficult to find pieces of this quality, and in this condition. The stone almost resembles a cluster of little islands in a body of water. The striations and patterns on the stone are truly unique. Colors are more dramatic when held to the light. The agate is set securely into a lovely filigree sterling silver frame (MARKED OB Sterling at the back). T are also tiny flowers interperced in the filigree which are each gold plated. Lovely... Retains its original ball hinge, roll-lock clasp, and pin-stem all dating to about 1900-20. In wonderful overall condition. I do not see any chips, nicks or cracks in the stone. As always NO RESERVE ! Measures 1.25" long x 1" wide Weighs 5.2 Grams
