A lovely, antique or vintage, Victorian style silver plated (English?), cut glass claret jug/carafe with an ornate hinged lid and lion shield finial.The silver plated mount has a Bacchus mask spout with grape and vine decorations, dancing children/raised cherubs. The jug has a cylindrical glass body with a diamond pattern and a spreading star cut base. The carafe measures~11" tall x 6" deep with the handle x 5" wide.In very good original condition. I did note some fleabites/small chip in the cut glass pattern along the border of the base. (Hard to capture with the camera).
