I solely specialise in restoring and refurbishing trunks and chests to a high standard.This is not a shabby chic trunk like the majority of chests on e-bay but one which has been painstakingly fully restored.All restoration is by hand-not dipped in caustic soda but hand sanded,stained and polished so you purchase an antique worth cherishing rather than an old tatty chest fresh from a sale. Dimensions 91 cm wide, 57 cm deep, 56 cm tall A Vintage Travel Trunk A large black,hessian covered trunk which once sailed the seven seas in the early 20thC. Now is now a fantastic piece of antique furniture restored to its former glory.This would sit beautifully at the foot of a bed as a linen chest etc or could placed in a hallway or living room.It absolutely glows with colour & detail. Polished solid brass locks.Left hand one is working,right hand one missing the holding hoop to rear of catch.Small brass catch to centre.Wax polished beech banding with polished brass corners.Original brown Leather handles to either end both in good condition.Two inobtrusive teeny hessian patches under the locks. Trunk generally in very good condition for its age. Relined interior in period style paper. read more
