This is an antique H. and Co. or "Hamburg and Co." doll. Her name is Viola, and she is 16" tall. She has a bisque head, and a jointed composition body. The markings on the back of her head say "Made In Germany. Viola H. & Co. 2/0" She has an open mouth. Her eyes are blue. This company was in business from 1889-1910, so she is definitely an antique, though not sure exactly what year she was made. Her wig does not seem to be original--there is a label inside the wig that says "PLAYHOUSE 100% Modacrylic From Japan, Made in Korea". This would indicate that the wig is more modern, perhaps from the 1970's. The condition of her head is very good--there are no hairline cracks or chips. The hair is not glued down though. The body is in good condition, but please see photos of her left hand-there is a significant chip in her wrist. Otherwise the body seems to be in good condition, though there are spots of yellowing.
