I have a truly unique book from the years 1909 through to 1963. It is a visitors book to Aston Hall. It covers Aston Hall from 1909 to 1927 then a gap is left and it continues from 1954 to 1963 at 11 Eldon Road W8. It is a family home, which appears to have taken guests. Many apparently well to do people stayed, and signed the book, sometimes very personally, and sometimes with little poems. This must be the only one if its kind. The Harmood-Banner family were an influential family, and this book is part of the social history of the name. Some of the men signing the book during the years 1914-1918 were off to war after staying there. Very poignant to think this may be the last time they visited the hall and signed the book. The book has wear on the spine, and should be fixed to make this a really nice conversation piece. Red leather. You will never see another book the same as this, with so many years of history in it.
