Antique Waterman's Ideal 56 Gold Filled Clip-Cap BHR Eyedropper Fountain Pen The item being offered is an antique Waterman's Ideal 56 Clip -Cap eyedropper fill fountain pen circa 19 10s or 20s. The barrel and screw-on cap are smooth black hard rubber. It has gold filled trim, including a ⅛" cap band and ball clip. The barrel is imprinted Pat'd. 1884 May 23,1899 / Waterman's Ideal (in globe logo) Fountain - / Pen.N.Y. U.S.A. & Aug.4,1903 . The clip is engraved Clip-Cap Ideal (in globe logo). The nib is not a Waterman's nib but rather a Grau & Selb nib. The pen measures approximately 5½ " long capped, 6⅞" posted. It is in good+ cosmetic condition with no cracks in the barrel or cap. The imprint is weak, especially on the right side. There is some brassing to the cap band and clip ball.
