ANTIQUE WEDGWOOD CREAMWARE BOWL MADE FOR BORGEN DANISH GALLERIES HAND PAINTED Description "BOWL" This is an antique Wedgwood creamware bowl decorated with transfer printed and hand painted Japanese style decoration. These plates were inspired by Felix Bracquemond's "Service Rousseau" which was shown at the 1867 Paris Exhibition. The maker is Wedgwood who supplied the blanks to Messrs Borgen & Co's Royal Danish Galleries where they were painted by two French artists, Leonce Goutard and Pierre Mallet. These two artists were exclusive to the Messrs Bourgen and their names appear on the backstamp. It measures approx 24cm across the centre It dates from the 1860/70s Faults: Cutlery marks - apologies for the pinkish tinge on photo I have lots of these plates for sale and will combine postage if more than one is purchased.
