Antique Weir Monmouth Old Sleepy Eye Stoneware Cattail Vase Marked W, NR "> Up for auction is this Old Sleepy Eye Flemish stoneware Vase made by the Weir Pottery Company of Monmouth Illinois. I believe this piece is from their early, Flemish (Blue & Gray) line. Nice glaze and mold with Old Sleepy Eye on the front and a dragonfly among cattails on the reverse. Sleepy Eye pottery and advertising is highly prized by collectors. These vases, which were given away as promotions by the Sleepy Eye Flour Company, were produced between 1903 and 1906. This vase is signed with a large W impressed on the bottom. The vase, which measures 8 1/2" high, is in exceptional condition with no crazing, chips, breaks, or repairs. A great piece of early original antique stoneware offered at No Reserve. Thanks for looking. "> "> "> "> "> "> "> ">
