PLEASE READ: Let me start by saying, " I am not a clock guy ". I know very little about antique clocks and I will do my best to offer every bit of information I know about this one. As far as I can tell and as far as what I have been told, this clock is 100% original. I will answer any questions you have to the best of my ability and if you see any issues I have neglected to point out, please let me know. Anybody who has follows my auctions knows that I sell items at no reserve 99.99% of the time. I am selling this for a friend and am putting a modest reserve on it at his request. If the clock fails to sell this week, it will NOT be offered on eBay again. Please bid what you are comfortable and you might end up with this rare clock!c.1871 Welch Daniel J. Gales Improved Drop Calendar Clock Model "No. 1" Regulator in rosewood case. Original and NOT a re-issue! Glass, labels, dial, arms, pendulum, wood finish and movement are original. I have attempted to photograph the movement from the underside, please see photos. I do not want to turn the screws on the dial to access the movement. I have not attempted to wind this clock. and do not know if the movement is in working order (I have no reason to believe otherwise, but I do not feel comfortable attempting to try).
