ITEM DESCRIPTION AND DETAILS HEIGHT: 34.5 inches WIDTH: 24 inches DEPTH: 20.5 inches DESCRIPTION: This is a traditiona style for Louis XV armchairs, with arched cabriole legs, and curved arms covered in a completely handstitched needlepoint upholstery. The bonus with this chair is that the center design of both the back and the seat are done in what is called "petit point." It is so tiny that you almost need a magnifying glass to see what you are doing. It also makes it possible to put great detail into the design. T is a lovely lady dressed in clothing from the 1700's on the back of the cfhair done in the petit point so you can even see clearly the expression on her face. The frame is a solid hardwood painted in a creamy beige anhd trimmed with gold accents. Notice the carved flowers on the knees of the legs of the chair, and the flower carved at the crown of the back of the chair. T is also an extra bonus --the chair is comfortable!!
