Here for bidding is a vintage WM. AINSWORTH & SONS INC. box of brass weights which I believe to be assayers weights. This box is marked best seen in picture 3 with Denver Colorado, U.S.A. below the Ainsworth name. In picture 3 the Fishers Scientific Co. metal tag is intact. Above the tag are the numbers 2801. The box measures 6 1/4" X 3 1/4" X 1 1/2". I am not certain what the box is made of guessing either celluloid or bakelite, it is a very sturdy box. It has a small brass push button lock which works perfectly. I have found no damage to this box. This set includes 9 brass weights and a pair of tweezers shown in picture 4. I do not know what the tips of the tweezers are made of but picture 4 shows that one side has a crack in the tip, however it is still firmly attached. Picture 6 shows the following numbers No 11979. The last 3 pictures show the brass weights with some of them having bits of the green felt liner stuck to them. I am not going to try to remove the felt from them for fear of doing some damage to this very neat old set. I will try to answer any questions. Have fun bidding and good luck. Thanks for looking.
