This old pencil box has a charming scene of children in sailor outfits playing with a sailboat. The scene appears to be decoupaged on the top. The hinges appear to be iron. Maybe t was once a little key that opened the latch? The wood is very lightweight.8" by 2.5" by 1.5" tall, with a center divider. T are a number of smudges and a few scratches that I would call "patina". A useful and attractive little container---great gift for a teacher or writer.
