We offer Quality Antique Radios. our other antique radio auctions, as well as antique radio grill cloth. Here we have a gorgeous 1938 Emerson Ingraham model CR-261 table radio. Nicknamed the 'Little Miracle', because of its miniature size, this beauty features a beautiful Ingraham made American Walnut cabinet, attractive dial, wood grill louvers, great Art Deco appeal, and excellent performance.Cabinet: The Ingraham made American Walnut cabinet is simply stunning. Beautiful wood grain flows throughout the entire set. The cabinet itself is only 9" wide 6" high and 4 1/2" deep earning itself a spot in Emerson's highly collectible 'Little Miracle' line of miniature radios.The protruding left side grill, coupled with wood louvers, makes for such an elegant look that Ingraham was so famous for capturing. Jet black trim and the Ingraham nameplate, located on the bottom of the cabinet, finish the radio off perfectly. This little beauty is sure to be the highlight of any room in the home or office you choose to display it in.Dial/Knobs: The lighted square dial is quite attractive. It features a gold background with ivory numbers and letters along with black trim. A large airplane style pointer is right in the center and the Emerson branding right at the bottom. Both knobs are in perfect shape and control on/off & volume and tuning.Electronics/Chassis: All tubes in the 5 chassis were tested with any weak tubes being replaced. All caps, filters, and resistors were checked and replaced as needed. All brittle or bare wiring was replaced or re-insulated. The chassis has been cleaned, lubed, and re-aligned for optimal performance. With the included copper line antenna the radio plays extremely well. I'm able to pull in many stations across the AM broadcast band with excellent tone and plenty of volume.To see a video of this radio playing just send me an email.The Cabinet's Finish & Restoration Process: Our Radio cabinets undergo a vigorous restoration process. Our goal is to maintain the natural beauty of the wood and grain, while providing a deep luster and shine. We achieve this by removing all the old and worn lacquers and stains. We then sand the cabinet with fine grit pads down to the original bare wood. Nicks, chips, and blemishes are filled and/or blended. Any loose veneer is re-secured. We make sure any filler applied or repairs made are blended nicely and do not detract from the beauty of the set unless otherwise noted. New stains and sealers are applied by hand. We continue by using many coats of Mohawk brand lacquers and toners applied in the same manner as when the radio was originally finished in the factory. We use a nitrocellulose piano lacquer which is applied through a professional HVLP turbine spray system in a climate controlled room. Nitrocellulose lacquer is very thin. We also apply very thin coats. This allows the lacquer to seep into the grain and not cover it up. A fine grit wet sanding follows every third coat along with a polishing process and ending with an Oz glaze rub. Many hours of work are put into the radios, but as you can see, the final outcome is a beautiful, natural looking cabinet with gorgeous luster& shine. We also offer a 30 day warranty on all the tubes, capacitors, resistors, and filters. Due to the design of some antique radio parts we cannot warranty transformers, coils, tuners, and speakers. However, if at any time these parts would happen to fail, we will assist in repairing or replacing the defective part at minimal cost. Finally, in very rare instances, if there is shipping damage a USPS insurance claim request must be made to me from the buyer immediately upon receipt of the radio. A USPS inspection of the radio, boxes, and all packing materials is required.
