This is a wonderful and all original cast iron candy scale that is quite difficult to find in this nice condition. This will weigh up to 2 pounds of product, and has great stenciling and graphics over all of it. No cracks or issues with the castings, just a great example, rarely found. Please check out our other auctions for more related and unique items.The following is an excerpt from an informational article on the history of Wrigley."In 1899, Wrigley was invited to join six other chewing gum manufacturers who were banding together to form a trust. He refused, and soon found himself engaged in a nearly ruinous competition with them. As he himself was once a wholesaler, Wrigley understood the importance of supporting his retailers. Convinced that he could extend the application of premiums to dealers, Wrigley gave them free coffee grinders, cash registers, scales , lamps, and other appliances."
