Up for auction is for a 6 gallon stoneware crock top / lid / cover (replacement lid), it is in original near mint condition. This beautiful button top lid is a gray-beige color with a high glazed shiney finish. It was made in the 1890s, on the top center is a strong button top / knob handle that is 2 3/4" wide. The top is 13" in diameter, and 1 7/8" tall, it will fit on many 6 gallon type crocks. On the underside bottom the diameter that fits inside a crock is 1o 3/4" in diameter with a 1" overlap that rests on the crocks rim. This beautiful lid weighs about 6 lbs not packaged for shipping, a wonderful crock replacement top with only a small chip on the underside. All marks are the original manufactures workmanship under the glaze just as it came out of the kiln, see the photos for more details and look at it's old aged patina that just time can produce.
