We got this mac used years ago with a dead superdrive, but that was fine because the rest of the machine still worked. Worked, and worked well until the day, about a month after the Apple recall for the graphics chip expired, when the graphics chip delaminated and converted the machine into a headless server.Since then it's had one fan pulled (to replace a failing fan in another 2008 macbook pro) as well as the hard disk (ditto) and memory (to upgrade a mac mini to 2gb.) What's left probably works; I can't be sure because I don't want to go to the process of reassembling it when there's already a surplus of servers in our household.Need a LCD screen? Here's one for you. Keyboard? ditto. Want to load it up with memory and a disk, then use it as a server; this might be a machine for you.
