You are bidding on one Thomas Appleton wood toothing or scraper plane as pictured.It is marked "THOS L APPLETON CHELSEA" on the front end, and the iron is marked "MOULSON BROTHERS WARRANTED CAST STEEL". Overall length of the body is 7-5/16", and the iron is about a 16th under 2". The Chelsea mark rates one star for rarity in AWP4, (American Wooden Planes 4th Edition, THE book to own if you collect American wooden planes), although I can';t remember having any other Appleton Chelsea planes. This is the Chelsea that is just outside Boston.Condition is very good, other than lots of ding marks on the body and wear to the top of the wedge, both from adjusting the iron.
