Up for auction is an April 21 st , 1912 issue of The Rocky Mountain News. Section one only plus a page or two. Two 1” edge tears left side (affecting all pages), small archival tape repairs to page 2 near top, binding holes with some paper loss and a piece missing from page 3 (please see photos) which does affect the Titanic article (several words from the first two paragraphs) but the article covers most of this page along with 2 other small Titanic related articles. The front page story relates the ignoring of the Titanic distress call by a German ship. Page 2 has several Titanic articles regarding: Ship safety, Senator Smith holding “Quick” hearings to get all the facts, “Ismay Responsible Declares Survivor’ and more! Page 3 has an illustration regarding the newly proposed life boat system and “Capt. Smith’s Last Heroic Deed”. Not too bad for its age (100 years old!). Please see photos!
