ARCADE FAMILYESTATE SALE - Very rare, unusual "OLD DOC YAK" CAST IRON RADIATOR CAP! This very old, very rare and very unusual cast iron automobile radiator cap was made for Henry Ford’s Model T cars as a novelty item. This radiator cap, “Old Doc Yak,” is over 100 years old. My great-grandfather, Charles Morgan, began the Arcade Manufacturing Co. in 1893 and my grandfather, Hazen Morgan, designed the Andy Gump cast iron car, based on Sidney’s Smith’s newspaper cartoons. The car became a popular child’s toy and helped launch the Arcade cast iron toy line. This unique and very rare cast iron radiator cap of “Old Doc Yak,” a character of half-man, half-goat, is based on Smith’s famous comic strip for his popular newspaper cartoons in the early 2oth century. This highly unusual item is being offered as part of my Arcade Family Estate sale. I am downsizing my Arcade cast iron toy collection and I'm selling some of my favorite, unique items that are very hard to find and seldom come up on the market for sale. The Old Doc Yak radiator cap was made between 1910-12 and is shown on page 31 of Al Aune’s book on Arcade Toys. The radiator cap stands 4 ½” tall and is silver with some worn red highlights on his pants and jacket.
