square form with bail handle, cap marked "THE NONPAREIL LANTERN", colorless glass panes on each side with a single vertical guard, hinged base fitted with font, top of font marked "PATENTED JUNE 21ST 1864 / ARCHER & PANCOAST N.Y." Fitted with a brass Archer & Pancoast wide-wick burner, deflector marked "PATENTED MARCH 1ST 1864".Circa: Third quarter 19th century. Condition: Excellent condition with very minute denting, cap with a short separation. Size: 10" H to top of cap, 4 1/2" SQ. Provenance: Provenance: The Phillip M. Sullivan estate collection.
