Another of my favorite series, Arctic Scenery has a puzzling and wonderful combination of arctic scenes in the center of the plate with tropical animals on the border! This black and white plate has well-furred people building igloos with four kinds of tropical cats in the border. It looks as if one of the dogs in the well of the plate is barking at a cat in the border! The plate has some restoration that was done to the center of the plate. It is nearly impossible to see. Appearance is excellent. I have taken eight photos so take a look. The plate was made in Staffordshire around 1840.
