THE ARGYLL AND SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDERS OFFICERS RANK SLIDES - LIEUTENANT ON OLIVE Pair of new and unworn Officers rank slides to a Lieutenant in The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, a famous Scottish infantry regiment of the British Army. The slides are a pair and as new as have never been worn. They are olive green with the rank pips in white and light brown. Below this in black embroidery is the unit designation of The Argylls - A&SH . These slides were worn both on the green issued shirt and jersey, and also on the eppaulettes of the old combat jacket and the chest eppaulette of the later CS95 shirt and smock. They have sadly not been worn since The Argylls were disbanded and amalgamated to form the much maligned Royal Regiment of Scotland, even though the Scottish regiments were to be known primarily by their antecedent regimental titles. Prior to 28 March 2006, the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders was an infantry regiment in its own right; The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders , part of the Scottish Division . In 2004, as part of the restructuring of the infantry , it was announced that the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders would be amalgamated with the other Scottish infantry regiments into the single seven battalion strong Royal Regiment of Scotland.
