Historical Blue Arms of North Carolina Staffordshire Platter. Large size just under 15 inches: 14-3/4 x 11-1/2. Made by T. Mayer, Stoke, England, 1826-38, for the American trade. This dark blue platter is a rare and sought-after piece in the Arms of the American States series. Portrays the Goddess of Liberty holding the Declaration of Independence, along with Ceres, Goddess of the Harvest. Larsen No. 248. Rich color (photo light caused yellowish tinge on left, it's not stain). Transfer is good, clearer than the jpeg compression which makes it fuzzy. This historical blue platter was cracked in half horizontally decades ago and professionally restored at that time, thus priced at half its value if perfect -- a true rarity. $5175 was recently paid in September/06 for a smaller piece of Arms of North Carolina.
