This is a 1942 issue Army Air Corps Type A-9 summer flying helmet. It is complete with Air Corps leather ear cups with double snaps. Front has an original leather name tag sewn on. It is complete with field applied oxygen mask snaps. Chin strap assembly is complete. It retains the original USAC label and is marked as a size large. This helmet shows use and wear and is fragile and in fair condition. There are small wear tears. The rarity of this style helmets make it a good candidate for display. Handsome and beautiful vintage flying helmet.
