Up for auction is an original M1895 undress blue uniform. It is either US Army or US Navy. I know they had the same uniform with slight variations, but that's the limit of my knowledge. I'm not enough of an expert in this era to know which service this uniform belonged to. I do know it was the blue undress uniform that was worn during the Spanish American War, WWI, and into the 1920s. This uniform is in what I would call fair to good condition. It has mothing throughout, although none is so severe that it goes through the uniform. I tried to take pictures of the worst damage. It looks like the mohair around the collar is worst, especially where the insignia used to be. It looks as if the previous owner wasn't too careful when they removed the insignia. It is a small size, and is named in both the tunic and the trousers to a Lewis Mapes. I have not done any research on that name.
