You are bidding on one interesting wood sash molding or moulding plane with an early appearing mark as pictured.The last two letters are tough to make out, but I believe it is marked "T : ARNTH" twice along with owner "W MORRIS" on the front end, and unmarked on the back end. I can't tell you anything about ARNTH, although do see the similar T ARNER mark in American Wooden Planes 4th Edition.Overall length is about 9-7/16", and the body is about 1-3/8" in width.It is not obvious, but the body is made of two pieces, with the seam running vertically just to the left of the first T in the mark that runs diagonally on the plane. The style of the mark, along with the thinner than usual iron, suggest early production.The profile is a small sash profile, and the profile area is much cleaner than the rest of the plane, suggesting that it has been cleaned up or the profile might not be original. The fence section has clearly been shaved down.Condition is otherwise good, with a variety of scratches.SHIPPING MOULDING PLANES: The typical moulding plane will weigh a bit over one pound when boxed, and ships at the two pound rate.
