"New Arrivals at Scampton" by Nicolas Trudgian. Aircrew of 49 Squadron sit with their Handley Page Hampden at RAF Scampton watching curiously as their replacement aircraft arrive in April 1942. Within 2 months the ill-fated Avro Manchester was replaced by the Lancaster on which 49 Squadron would use courageously for the rest of the 2nd World War.
