A very striking and evocative of the period cake / sandwich plate by Allertons Bone China. The back stamp reads "Old English" I believe this dates to c1920. Decorated with a thick cobalt blue border and gold gilt design, then hand painted orange detail within the gold design. The handle areas have been left white as has the centre of the plate. Measures 9.25" handle to handle. Very good condition, no chips. cracks or crazing. A little of the blue has bled into the white handle areas, flow blue process?
