ART DECOGLASSPOWDER JARGOLD PAINTED STAG DEER GAZELLEAPPROX MEAS.3 1/2"H by 5"polished rimlabel on bottommade in Czecho-Slovakia I absolutely adore this jar. Love the ball shaped domed lid. Love the gilt decorations, and love the quality of the glass. Came from a fantastic estate auction held in the Midwest. condition of this piece is about as pristine as it gets. T are no cracks to the rim, loss of paint that I can detect, and still has the original label on the bottom. Might have been a part of a larger vanity dresser set at one time. I am hoping someone with greater knowledge will recognize this jar either by shape, for, style, or decoration. The quality of the glass is lovely. Well-made and finely contoured. Satin finish in a striking pale opal to turquoise glass. The gold painted decoration on the lid is extremely detailed, which is perhaps why I took so many pictures. the stag is great. Wonderfully outlined with intricately in-painted details around her eyes, tail, and face . Gold leaves and branches also adorn the top and surround the base. Ball finial top with two bands of gold. Just think this is an exceptional vanity jar. Classic Art Deco. Stunning art glass addition or powder jar display. If you have any questions or wish additional pictures, I am happy to assist.
