This is a wonderful mounted lithographic print taken from the original 1913 art deco fashion design of "Winter Coat" by Poiret, which was illustrated by George Lepape, for La Gazette du Bon Ton (which later became Vogue). In the early part of the 20 th Century adistinctive modern style evolved and spread into almost every aspect of life. The style was Art Deco – and with it began the great age of elegance and glamour. Designers and illustrators of the time created new forms, shapes and colour harmonies that cut away the old over elaborate Art Nouveau designs. Sharp, simple geometric shapes with bright primary colours were the order of the day. Women’s fashions especially reflected this new exciting movement. This mounted print is approx 14" x 11" (35.5 x 27.9cm, the image size being approx 25.5 x 20cm) and will fit into a standard sized frame of your choice. It is in pristine condition with no rips tears or creases. It is further protected by a thick rear mounting board. Please do not confuse this print with a cheap home produced/scanned copy, as can be found in many ebay listings, this is a lithographic print which was produced commercially by Toppan, Singapore , in 1988 . This wonderful print will look stunning framed and displayed in any room of your home. It will make a great addition to any collection of Art Deco. Please read more
