VINTAGE ART DECO SILVER GUILLOCHE ENAMEL COMPACT BY MAPPIN AND WEBB 1937. This delightful and very pretty compact is complete with it’s sifter and very small puff! It is in very good condition for it’s age although the gold wash in the base seems to wearing off in places! The clasp opens and closes with a ! Inside it has it’s original mirror which is bright with just one very tiny mark at the bottom. The sifter and puff are both clean although obviously showing some powder wear! The silver assay mark in the base is Birmingham 1937 and the makers mark clear! Also there seems to be a very tiny assay mark on the right hand side by the mirror! It is just over 3inches long and weighs 88grms. A must for any Art Deco or compact collection ……. Or perhaps a very special gift! ….. This compact is so dainty and feminine and should be enjoyed!
