Antique lighting is much better quality than the cheap junk available now from China. It is an investment that will pay off for years to come. Think of it as Jewelry for your Home.Up for bids is this beautiful antique chandelier. The 12 3/8" shade looks deceptively light, yet is 1/4" thick heavy glass. It has a cross hatch pattern on the outside and very fine bias cut grooves inside. The cross hatching is continued on the 6" crystal bobesche, which sits upon a lovely leaded glass stem. This is a two lamp fixture with new porcelain sockets and wiring. You can use up to 100 watt bulbs-- which would throw off a whole lot of light. These pics were taken with two 40's installed. Since the finish on the base of the original finial has pretty much rubbed off, I have included pics of two different finial arrangements. Winning bidder gets to choose between the ball finial or brass loop and antique prism. If no preference is noted at checkout I will send it with the crystal ball. The light hangs down about 21" without finial. Mounting hardware is included. My shipping may seem high, but if you closely read the other seller's listings, it isn't.
