Art Glass Paperweight Scrambled Cane Aventurine Hand Blown Murano Style Old This interesting art glass paperweight with it's Kaleidoscope of colors and glittering aventurine, is a hand blown piece which likely dates back to at least the 1930s if not earlier. A flattened orb in shape this stunning piece contains a bountiful variety of elements including Purple, Yellow and Blue glass canes, ribbons of green, red, yellow and cobalt blue and a healthy dose of a gold or copper colored aventurine. The base of this piece shows an indented dirty pontil. In my experience dirty pontils have only been seen on Victorian era glass, or older. This piece was also found with a mid 1800s Dump paperweight. These factors contribute to my estimate that the paperweight may be an Antique. In fair condition this piece does have one bruise on the side and some base wear from age. It measures 3" in diameter and 1 3/4" tall. It would be a beautiful piece to add to your collection.
