Gorgeous antique jasperware beveled glass hand mirror most likely made by Schafer and Vater, though it is not marked, but definately done in the S & V style. I believe Schafer and Vater to be the maker, as they are known for their cherub and fairy designs done on jasper. This hand held mirror is simply gorgeous showing a woman with flowing hair swinging and a sweet little cherub at each side. The rim and handle are all brass with a fantastic floral design and superb aging to the brass creating wonderful patina. The glass is beveled and t are no cracks or chips! Some light surface scratching to the glass, as expected for age, but only minor! T is very light wear to the jasper. T is a flat surface area on each side of the handle that would have been for an monogram, but no initial was ever engraved t The art nouveau design is delighful and this mirror appears to be one of a kind!
