Art Nouveau solid silver sugar tongs - Assayed Birmingham 1897 A stunning pair of solid silver sugar tongs from the ArtNouveau period 1890 - 1910. Wonderful condition given its age of 105 years with exquisite detail of curves and lines which accent each side of the handles to a twisted steam to each arm as seen in the photo. Length of 9.5cm., without personalised initials.Clear makers and hallmarks to the inner surface showing W.D - lion - lower case letter x - anchor. Believed to be made by the sort after renown silver smith William Devenport, Northwood Street, Birmingham. A lovely example of a pair of sugar tongs.
