ART NOUVEAU STERLING SILVER AN 7 - TINKERBELL FAIRY BROOCH You are viewing one of a series of designs from a very special collection of hallmarked, Sterling Silver Art Nouveau Brooches. After recently sorting through my collection of old silver I re-discovered these Art Nouveau treasures tucked away in my loft.This collection goes back to the 1980s when I worked with up-market mail order and retail shops.These creations were inspired by the classical Art Nouveau designs by Alfons Mucha in the early1900s and are extremely collectable. Each piece was caste and hand crafted in the jewellery quarter of Birmingham. After hallmarking they were oxidised, then lightly hand polished on the front to give an attractive antiqued finish. Because they were skillfully polished by hand no two have the exact same finish, which has added to their attraction.These are truly vintage, unused old pieces of collectable art / jewellery. The weight of this brooch is 4.8 grams - So the silver content alone is worth having! Similar brooches of brass and merely silver plated are offered elsewhere for higher prices than this solid silver piece.
