Art nouveau style posy holder/tussie mussie brooch. This pretty brooch is in a brass/gold colour metal and has the most gorgeous filigree work. Before sanitation and concerns with personal hygiene, the nosegays/tussie mussies were carried to superstitiously ward off disease or to camouflage the unpleasant smells of the street. These kind of brooches where used by ladies and gentlemen and would now be perfect for a wedding or a prom.On the back it has a secure pin and a c clasp fastener. It measures 3 inches long and is in great condition. I am not sure how old it is but I have seem simular ones in past times . If you buy more than one item, it will only be an extra £1 or 50p postage. About vintage jewellery items: To be a vintage piece of jewellery an item must be at least 20 years old, usually my vintage items are from the victorian era right upto the retro 1980's.
