Art Original Apache Gaan Dancer Painting R. Holmes Magnificent framed original oil on canvas covered art board by artist R. Holmes. It features five Apache Native American Crown or Devil dancers who are performing a ceremonial dance performed during puberty or for curing ceremonies. The Gaan personify the four Mountain Spirits, supporters of the four corners of the earth, providing for world balance. The dances represent the powers of the Gaan, protectors of the Apache. Signed in the lower right corner "R. Holmes" and dated 1979". The wood frame shows some surface wear. The painting is in fantastic condition. Measures 24" tall x 30" wide, frame measures 28.75" x 35". Previous owners obtained a collection of R.
