This covered vase is absolutely stunning! An elderly lady gave it to me to list for her but honestly, she doesn't remember much about it other than her mother had given it to her It is fairly large at 12 3/4" (including the top) The textures in this piece are fabulous....parts are done in a crackle finish, mostly glazed pottery and a smallpart unglazed. The interior is glazed completely The fairy's head stands out in relief and reminds one of a Woodland Goddess. The flowers surrounding the vessel are 3D with attention to detail to the petals, stems, and leaves....which are very elegant It is basically a warm gray tone with some design in a soft green and faded pink. Up near the rim are "beads" of clay in a design...it truly is unusual....and quite "mysterious" in a way. I think you will be absolutely thrilled with such a fine piece! It really is beautiful It is signed with what appears to be something like: "Sisre" or something similar....it is really hard to make out.
