ART S8 8-Channel Balanced Microphone SplitterThis unit can be used to split eight balanced low-impedance microphone signals into sixteen (eight pairs). Each channel of the S8 provides one direct output and one transformer-isolated output from a single input. This is especially useful for sending the direct outputs to the main or Front-of-House mixer, and the second isolated outputs to a recording mixer/interface. Using the S8 in this way reduces the risk of damaging the main mixer due to potential/ground differences between the microphone and the recording equipment. The direct outputs also pass phantom power from the main mixer to the microphones for use with condenser microphones.The S8 also includes a ground-lift switch on each isolated output to reduce hum due to ground loops as well as an attenuator pad switch on each input for use with pre-amplified signals (e.g. signals from instrument preamps, mixers, keyboards, etc.)This unit is in good condition, with only minor scuffs and scratches on the top and bottom from rack installation and removal - no blemishes on front or rear face.
