It is not very often you meet someone that really impresses and amazes you...KC Willis is that type of person..She is an artist from Colorado. She is a pioneer of fiber-art collages that look as though, as she says, "they'd been pulled from a trunk in a covered wagon."My idea of the perfect life was to be the only daughter of Ben Cartwright (imagine being Hoss and Little Joe's kid sister!) and spend my days riding around the Ponderosa," KC once wrote. She creates beautiful works of art using old fabric, lace, buttons, collaged scraps, aged canvas and much more..Each piece carries an image and a quote..In KC WIlis' eyes all of her women are heroes. Some are famous historical figures such as Annie Oakley and Calamity Jane, but many are unknown women she has selected from her collection of old-time photos and postcards..She personalizes each piece by adding words appropriate to the character...She has done Frida Kahlo and the Virgen de Guadalupe. She is working on some pieces of "Day of the Dead." for me. "When I'm in my studio, surrounded by these incredible women, I don't have to put much effort into their quotes. If I simply listen, they will whisper in my ear. Please study the photos..This work of art measures 11x18 and is signed by her...I will list several of her pieces in different sizes and styles...You can go to my ebay store and read more
