Up for auction and your consideration is this Arts & Crafts Period embroidered pillow cover in overall excellent condition. The skillfully worked silk embroidery design is 100% intact with no loose, weak or broken threads. The colors are subtle, and having inspected the reverse side of the work, do not appear to be faded from light exposure. The pale ecru textile is a fine cotton gabardine with no holes or areas of weakness. T are a few areas with slight age toning, but are not significant and do not distract from the overall beauty of the piece. I attempted to show one area of toning in the close up in the fourth photo. The lower open raw edge of the pillow top is stamped; "No. 24 LINE DESIGN No. 121". I believe this embroidery was worked from a kit that was available to ladies at the turn of the Century. The color stamped designs beneath the flowers remain distinct. The pillow back is a much lighter weight textile, and I believe it to be silk. The pillow measures 15" by 20 1/2".
