VINTAGE NIELS ERIK FROM DENMARK 925 STERLING SILVER MODERNIST RING Niels Erik From was born in Denmark in 1908 and trained as a silversmith. He opened a shop in 1931 from which he also sold some of his designs, but the N.E. From shop name was not registered in Nakskov until 1944. For the next 40 years, From's floral-inspired pieces from Denmark's Arts and Crafts period would becom e the company's signature style . His son-in-law Hilmer Jensen joined the management team in 1960, and took over the firm after Niels Erik's death. The company closed a few years later. This statement vintage N E From ring is clearly marked FROM 925S. It is approximately a size 7 1/2. The band itself is approximately 1/4 of an inch wide. The decorative base of the ring is round and raised and measures approximately 5/8 of an inch across with an oval shape set in the center that measures approximately 3/4 of an inch X 3/8 of an inch. I have not polished the ring. I never want to remove any of the original patina. I will leave that to the discretion of the buyer.
