Description: Striking and hightly detailed oversize copper engraved map of whole Asian Continent. This map covers also Arabian Peninsula, Middle East, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Crimean Peninsula. The island of Hokkaido is attached to the mainland as part of the Yupi peninsula and a huge Terre de Iesso (the name normally associated with Hokkaido) appears to the east. Korea is shown as an elongated peninsula. In the East Indies, New Guinea is divided into Terre de Papous and Nouvelle Guinee . Map gives several details concerning cities, villages, rivers, lakes, mountains. A beautifully engraved, uncolored title cartouche is in the upper right corner .
